Denis Cobell
Chair of the Board of Trustees
Denis Cobell is a prominent UK secularist, humanist, republican, and pacifist. He served as President of the National Secular Society from 1997 to 2006 and has long been a humanist celebrant. He stepped down as Honorary Secretary of the South East London Humanist Group in 2014, after 40 years in the role. He has been President of the Bromley Humanist Group since its inception in ——————.
Brian Venables
Board of Trustees Treasurer
Brian’s career was in Export Sales and Logistics. His work involved overseas travel, and he enjoyed building meaningful, lasting relationships with people from other cultures and traditions. He lived in Asia for a few years after retiring.
He has been active in Bromley Humanists for several years since retiring. He has a friendly, welcoming nature and has handled all the arrangements for our monthly meetings and other activities so far.
Patrick Hawkins
Member of the Board of Trustees
Patrick spent over 50 years in logistics, moving, storage, and shipping with an international company, where he held management roles. Understanding clients, tact, patience, and organisational skills were key to his success. In retirement, he cared for his late wife for ten years, who lived with dementia. That experience greatly helped Patrick become a Volunteer Counsellor for the Alzheimer’s Society, serve on his GP Patient Participation Group, be involved in the Community Care Centre, and serve as a Neighbourhood Watch, in addition to serving on the Bromley Humanists Board of Trustees.
Reza Zolfagharifard

Reza is a retired positive psychology practitioner with many years of experience in teaching, training and coaching.
He was a humanist celebrant and a non-religious pastoral support for many years.
