Make an impact: Support us
Bromley Humanist is a non-religious registered charity (————————) and home to a group of passionate humanists dedicated to creating a world that is kind to everyone, regardless of their protected personal characteristics (religion or belief, race or ethnicity, age, ability, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, marriage or civil partnership). We are committed to living with compassion, kindness, and purpose. Collaboration and curiosity drive everything we do. We believe that great results come from honesty, clarity, and open collaboration, all underpinned by a shared sense of purpose.
You can support us by joining as a member, volunteering, donating, or a combination of these.
Would You Support Our Work?
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we can defend human rights, uphold universal humanistic values, and campaign for a better, fairer society. We especially need your financial support to continue our work, which includes community cohesion services, citizenship training, and emotional support.
People who donate to BH causes or support humanism generally say that they choose to give because they want to make life better for people in the here and now. Your generous donation may take any of the following forms.
Direct Individual Giving:
Regular donations, which are highly popular, are the most effective way of support.
One-off gifts: Using our collection boxes or card readers at various events to give cash or card payments.
In most donation cases, people tick a simple box to confirm Gift Aid, boosting their donation value by 25% at no extra cost to them.
Please use the donation form below or contact BH for detailed guidelines.
Legacy and Estate Giving
Legacy giving can take the form of leaving a specific cash sum in a will, called a pecuniary legacy.
Leaving a percentage of an estate in a will is known as a residuary legacy.
Or, lowering inheritance tax rates by donating 10% or more of an estate, known as inheritance tax cuts.
Please get in touch with BH in advance for detailed guidelines on legacy and estate giving.
Asset and Property Donations
Giving stocks or listed shares to eliminate Capital Gains Tax.
Gifting property, land or buildings to claim Income Tax relief.
Please get in touch with BH in advance for detailed guidelines on asset and property donations.
Challenge Fundraising:
Fundraising challenges turn physical milestones into financial support for BH through peer-to-peer donations. Participants use their network to raise money in exchange for completing a difficult physical task.
Please get in touch with BH or review our promotions before taking any action.

Donation Form
Many supporters of BH say they donate simply for the good of the community, rather than to please a deity or secure a place in heaven. They believe in kindness, generosity, and decency for their own sake.
Our supporters often quote the American author and satirist Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007), who said that being a humanist means “trying to behave decently without expecting rewards or punishment after you are dead”.
Our donors appreciate that their money goes directly to helping people, guided by reason and empathy, without trying to convert anyone or promote a specific religion.
Please donate £10, £20, £30, £40 or any other amount, either as a one-off gift or a monthly contribution, to help us promote humility and kindness. Please remember to confirm Gift Aid, boosting their donation value by 25% at no extra cost to you.
